Two sisters. One diagnosis. Seven different bathrooms.

When Marnie is diagnosed with a rare medical condition, she and younger sister Jen grapple to come to terms with its life-changing impacts.

Flushed is a play about the everlasting bond developed between the cubicle walls; a unique and important story with a lot of humour and a lot of heart.

Project History

Theatre Unlocked, founded by Catherine Cranfield and Elis Shotton; Flushed is the company’s second show, which premiered at 53Two in Manchester, winning their FOUNDation Award. Flushed then went to Underbelly at Edinburgh Fringe in 2018, where the show won Voice Magazine’s Pick of the Fringe. The show has toured to venues and medical forums including the Barbican, as part of Fertility Fest, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, and Kensington Olympia. GDP came on board as Associate Producer for the show’s run at Park Theatre in 2021.

Each stage of Flusheds life has been done in partnership with the Daisy Network, the only UK charity whose sole aim is to support women with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency, the condition Flushed is based on.
